Oeiras sits between Lisbon and Cascais and has grown around business parks and newer residential developments — which usually means lifts, parking and reasonable access.
Most Oeiras addresses are straightforward for a van, and the moves tend to be quicker than in the old city. The area also produces a steady share of office moves; those we schedule for weekends so the working week is not interrupted.
Most of residential Oeiras was built from the 1990s onwards, and it shows in the useful way: lifts that take furniture, corridors wide enough to turn a sofa in, parking that exists. Moves here are among the least eventful we do.
The exceptions are the older cores — Paço de Arcos and the streets nearest the river in Oeiras itself — where the buildings are lower, the streets narrower and a lift is not a given. Worth mentioning at the survey, because from a map the whole municipality looks equally modern and it is not.
The business parks give this area a second character. A meaningful share of what we do in Oeiras is offices rather than homes, and those follow a different rhythm entirely.
Office moves here we schedule Friday evening into Saturday, so the working week is not interrupted and Monday starts in the new place. Business parks are quiet at weekends, which also means loading bays are free and the lifts are not competing with anyone.
Homes are the opposite: midweek mornings are best, because the A5 between here and Lisbon carries commuter traffic at both ends of the day and nothing is gained by joining it.
One honest note on paperwork. Câmara Municipal de Oeiras requires prior licensing for any occupation of public space, and unlike Cascais we have not found a published minimum notice period for a move specifically. So we check the current requirement with the council for your address rather than quoting you a number we cannot source. If a reserved space is needed, raise it at the survey and we will find out properly.
As out of town, but only just. It is the shortest of our suburban runs — twenty to thirty minutes — and the distance component is typically 30 to 50 € on top of the move itself, stated separately.
Beyond that, the access here works in your favour. Lifts and parking mean two people handle what would need three in the old city, so for the same volume an Oeiras flat often lands below what the equivalent would cost in Graça even after the distance is added.
